I am supporting Bill Daughtridge for NC Treasurer because he has the financial background to carry out the duties and responsibilities of that office and he believes in the need for transparency in the handling of money of citizens of this great state.  Currently citizens do not understand that we have some mandated cost such as health care benefits to state employees which are not included in the budget.  Those cost exceed hundreds of millions of dollars.  Mr. Daughtridge is the only one who I have heard address this critical issue.  Much of the current national financial mess reflects off-budget expenditures which also aren't dealt with.  As a guardian of my funds, I want a man like Bill Daughtridge who has his watchful eye on the budget and my tax dollars.
